Instructions: This checklist is meant to serve as a general guideline for our client facilities as to the level of your skills within your nursing specialty. Please use the scale below to describe your experience/expertise in each area listed below.

Proficiency Scale:

1 = No Experience

2 = Need Training

3 = Able to perform with supervision

4 = Able to perform independently

ADMINISTRATIVE/CLERICAL SKILLS

Determine the appropriateness of the user’s health concern for the telehealth program
Provide workflow procedures to manage telehealth alongside other services
Provide a range of telehealth services based on needs assessment
Demonstrate familiarity with and adherence to relevant confidentiality protections (i.e., HIPAA as applicable)
Familiarity with healthcare data standards and coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, SNOMED, etc.).
Data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Tableau, R, etc.).
Knowledge of clinical workflows and how they relate to health information systems.
Follow policy when sharing records with other healthcare facilities
Collect data following the HIPAA compliance policy
Maintain data files accurately
Review data for completeness and accuracy

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Develop rapport with users, relatives, and healthcare providers
Show empathy and sensitivity to the feelings of others
Actively listen and use appropriate words in communicating
Provide appropriate complaint resolutions
Experience with project management principles and techniques.
Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians, IT staff, and administrators
Translate technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Proficient in training end-users on health information systems and technology.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to health information systems, such as connectivity, usability, and performance.
