Sterile Processing Tech (SPT)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) for a temp-to-perm opportunity at a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of Sterile Processing experience in a Level I Trauma setting, with hands-on experience in decontamination, sterilization, and assembly/wrapping.

The clinician may be required to float within scope to meet facility needs and may float to sister facilities or be permanently reassigned to CSC, ART, or West Campus.

Description

Shift: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM (3x12s)
Holiday Rotation: Required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Experience with:
  • Decontamination and disinfection
  • Sterilization
  • Assembly and wrapping
  • Aseptic technique
  • Case carts
  • Sterilization indicators and monitoring
  • Flexible endoscope/scope reprocessing
  • Sets/trays assembly
  • High-Level Disinfection (HLD)
• National certification required: CBSPD and/or HSPA (IAHCSMM)
• Experience with Neuro, GU/Urology, Robotics, ENT, Ortho, Transplant, and GYN preferred
• Acute Hospital OR and Ambulatory Surgery Center experience preferred

Additional Information

• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Holiday work is expected if the holiday is not included in RTO and the facility is open
• Travelers may be assigned to Inclement Weather Team A or B
• During hurricane season (June–November), travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams
